Great information! Thanks, but there is no mention in this Articulate lesson whether Articulate allows for easy recording of screen captures/mouse clicks/type/etc. through a software application. Since that is where my primary need lies, I wonder of Articulate could even be considered an alternative to Captivate for my needs? Anyone using both that can comment on this?

Captivate includes the screen recording, Articulate does not. There are many other screen recording tools available and some are even free, like http://camstudio.org/

Articulate users use SCREENR to make the captures you were referring to. This application is free http://www.screenr.com if you have a Twitter account. Since it is published in flash, it can be easily imported into Articulate.
